› Brand’s new interior concept continues in the ŠKODA KAMIQ
› Freestanding and clearly visible screen
› Elegant microfiber seat covers and new surfaces with crystalline structure

Mladá Boleslav, 6 February 2019 – Shortly before the world premiere of the new ŠKODA KAMIQ at the Geneva Motor Show, ŠKODA is showing the interior of the new city SUV for the first time. The interior of the KAMIQ impressively combines ergonomics and emotion with ŠKODA’s usual generous amount of space. The KAMIQ is the traditional Czech brand’s second model to feature the new interior concept.

The interior of the ŠKODA KAMIQ is characterised by the new interior concept presented for the first time in the VISION RS study. A character line surrounding the freestanding screen, which is positioned high in the driver’s field of vision, reflects the lines of the bonnet and also provides an ergonomic shelf for the hand operating the touchscreen. With the optional Virtual Cockpit, featuring one of the largest displays in the segment at 10.25 inches, ŠKODA offers another digital highlight in the new KAMIQ. The redesigned instrument panel seamlessly continues the emotional design language of the exterior. The side air vents extend into the doors, visually enhancing the spacious feel of the KAMIQ.

New surface grain, warm colours and ambient lighting
The instrument panel with new elaborate ornamentation and the front door panels feature a high-quality, soft foam surface with a new, crystalline structure based on a unique grain that will continue to characterize the ŠKODA brand’s design in the future. The ambient lighting, which is available in the colours copper, red or white, also adds to the pleasant atmosphere. The colours add a visual accent to the interior tones and an interesting contrast to the stitching on the seat covers. Suedia, a fine microfiber material, is available as an upholstery option. For additional comfort, the new ŠKODA KAMIQ offers optional heating for the windscreen, rear seats and steering wheel.

Plenty of space thanks to a long wheelbase
Built on the modular transverse matrix (MQB), the ŠKODA KAMIQ offers the generous interior space you would expect from a ŠKODA. With a wheelbase of 2,651 millimetres, the car offers generous knee clearance of 73 millimeters in the back. The boot volume is 400 litres, increasing to 1,395 litres with the rear seat backrests folded down.

The world premiere of the new ŠKODA KAMIQ takes place at the Geneva Motor Show from
5 to 17 March 2019.

Readers of the magazine ‘auto motor und sport’ choose ŠKODA OCTAVIA as the best car of the class in the import category for the seventh time
› With more than 388,000 OCTAVIAs delivered around the world and over 58,000 new registrations in Germany alone, the model once again highlights its position as the brand’s bestseller in 2018
› All engines comply with the Euro 6d TEMP emission standard; Virtual cockpit available on request

Stuttgart/ Mladá Boleslav, 31 January 2019 – The ŠKODA OCTAVIA has once again been voted the number one imported compact car by readers of the trade magazine ‘auto motor und sport’. This is the seventh time that the dynamic space miracle has won the prestigious award in its class. The OCTAVIA has also been extremely well received by customers: it was once again the brand’s bestseller in Germany with 58,444 new registrations in 2018.

ŠKODA AUTO CEO Bernhard Maier says: “On behalf of the entire ŠKODA team, I would like to thank all the readers of ‘auto motor und sport’ who voted for the OCTAVIA, the icon of our brand. For us, this is a great motivation to continue on the path we have forged. And this is exactly what we are doing by bringing more than 30 new models to our customers by the end of 2022.”

The readers of the magazine ‘auto, motor und sport’ voted for the ‘Best Cars’ for the 43rd time. This year 385 models fought for the coveted award in 11 categories. Among the compact cars, the ŠKODA OCTAVIA once again won the import category, securing 16.6% of all votes cast. The OCTAVIA has now won for the seventh time in its class in the import category.

However, the ŠKODA OCTAVIA is not only popular among ‘auto motor und sport’ readers. In January 1959, exactly 60 years ago, the first examples of this legendary model series rolled off the production line at the Mladá Boleslav plant. The first ŠKODA OCTAVIA generation of modern times made its debut in 1996, making an immediate impression with its unmistakable design and a high level of active and passive safety. Today, the ŠKODA OCTAVIA is firmly established in many markets around the world. This is impressively demonstrated by the fact that nearly 6.5 million units have been built since 1959. Last year alone, more than 388,000 vehicles of the popular series were delivered to customers worldwide.

ŠKODA OCTAVIA with modern engines and advanced connectivity
With proven strengths and new qualities, the ŠKODA OCTAVIA is writing a lasting success story. Thanks to above-average space, top functionality, extensive safety and comfort equipment and excellent value for money, the compact model available as a saloon or estate sets standards in its class. In addition, the current generation is the first OCTAVIA to feature ŠKODA Connect mobile online services. Advanced connectivity options enable drivers and passengers to connect wirelessly to the Internet and always be online. The Virtual Cockpit is one of the latest highlights in the OCTAVIA: the optional system gives the driver the ability to customize the dashboard displays above the steering wheel.

The ŠKODA OCTAVIA is also one of the most modern vehicles in its class in terms of drivetrain technology. All petrol and diesel engines meet the strictest current emission standard Euro 6d TEMP. The extensive engine range extends from the 1.0 TSI with an 85 kW (115 hp) output to the sporty RS series, which is available with the powerful 135 kW (184 hp) diesel or 180 kW (245 hp) petrol engine. The particularly environmentally friendly alternative OCTAVIA COMBI G-TEC* with natural gas drive is also available in the current third generation of the compact model.

› ŠKODA is pursuing its SUV campaign with a third model for the European market
› World premiere of new ŠKODA KAMIQ taking place at Geneva Motor Show in March 2019

Mladá Boleslav, 24 January 2019 – ŠKODA’s new SUV is called the ŠKODA KAMIQ. The crossover is the third SUV for the European market and marks the next step in the Czech manufacturer’s SUV campaign. The word KAMIQ comes from the language of the Inuit people living in northern Canada and Greenland. It describes something that fits as perfectly as a second skin in every situation. Reason enough to give the new crossover model for the European market the same name as the SUV already established in China.

The ŠKODA KAMIQ is an urban crossover model that presents itself as an ideal companion to everyday life in the modern city and beyond. The name ŠKODA KAMIQ is already established as the name of a model in China and is therefore perfectly suited to the new crossover model. At the same time, the designation falls within the nomenclature linking all models in the SUV model range – the names of all current ŠKODA SUV models start with a K and end with a Q.

With the new ŠKODA KAMIQ, the Czech carmaker is taking the next step in its SUV campaign and is expanding its offering with a compact and lifestyle-oriented entry-level model for the European market. The ŠKODA KAMIQ combines the agility and handling of a compact car with the traditional advantages of an SUV – higher seating position, better visibility, easier to get in and out, and higher ground clearance. Based on the modular transverse matrix, the ŠKODA model offers new assistance systems, and convinces with numerous ‘Simply Clever’ features that popularised the brand just as much as the generous space available.

The world premiere of the new ŠKODA KAMIQ takes place at the Geneva Motor Show between 5 and 17 March 2019.
